Getting to SusCamp should be a breeze, but there is another event on downtown to keep in mind - the annual Santa Claus parade that runs at 12:30pm on Sunday. Outside of some potential crowding on the subway and a few street closures if you’re driving, the parade won’t affect your ability to get to the Centre for Social Innovation.

Getting to SusCamp via TTC:

The best bet due to the parade is to take the subway to Spadina station and the Spadina streetcar south to Dundas Street or take the subway to St. Patrick station and walk west to Spadina. CSI is south of Dundas on the East side of the street.

We’re looking for volunteers to help on the day of the event with registration, video/livestreaming, set up… and more fun and glamorous tasks!

We’re holding a volunteer meetup and info session on Monday, November 10th at Rancho Relaxo (College/Spadina) at 6:30pm.

Our lunch menu is confirmed, delicious and eco-friendly!

Lunch is being provided by vert catering, a local Toronto catering company who is committed to the same ideals of sustainability and eco-responsibility as SustainabilityCamp. One of the things that makes vert a perfect choice for the event is their commitment to giving back to the community:

Slices of apple and organic cheddar layered with tomato and sprouts,
smudged with a touch of herb mayo

Pulled chicken
Creole style roasted chicken, tossed in a light chicken sauce, mixed with green onions
and topped with tomato and radish sprouts

Platter filler:

• One classic samosa

Delicate curried potato and peas, and a touch of lemon grass and apples, lightly fried
and served with a spicy organic yogurt

• Organic vegetable crudité with herb dip
• One organic juice

Tickets are going fast and furious for the event in 2 weeks! There are approx. 30 tickets left - if you’d like to attend make sure you sign up soon before they’re gone!

Tickets are free, but we are looking for “supporting sponsors” by way of donations - if you feel this is an event you’d like to support, please consider donating a small amount for your ticket.

SustainabilityCamp is open to all people who are interested in participating and sharing their passions and expertise! The format allows attendees to choose one of two sessions to attend during each time slot.

Tom Williams of GiveMeaning.com will be our opening keynote and kick off the day at 9am.

Do you believe in sustainable marketing, business, and technology? Are you involved in sustainable (or green) activities or strategies in your business? Want to share your insights and expertise with a group of interested and active people in an informal and open setting? Then leading a session at SustainabilityCamp is for you!

We have 12 session openings (50 mins each) if you know anyone you feel would be a good fit, please feel free to recommend them or have them get in touch! We have three confirmed sessions on the wiki at this point with a few more in development that will be confirmed shortly.
